tall plant horses [contest entry]

_{Heath yawned and turned the page of the latest issue of Tree Fashion. Wednesday afternoons were always slow at the shop... He blinked sleepily, trying to stay awake as he skimmed through articles about birch bark dresses and bamboo saddle bags. 
*ding ding!* The bell on the door jingled as a canary yellow unicorn entered, smiling happily up at the hanging plants. She looked over some of the flower seeds available before sighing and turning to look at the register, and a green earth pony who wasn't expecting shoppers. 
"Excuse me, could you help me with something?" Woodland Spring asked, trotting over to Heath, "I've been looking all morning for some flowers that I need and I'm worried I won't be able to find them!"
Heath shuffled the magazine off to the side of the counter and nodded, "Yeah, of course, we have plenty of summer variety flower seeds, a new shipment just arrived this morning actually. What are you looking for exactly?"
Woodland turned around to swish her tail, showing off four large, pink daisy-like blooms, "I need some like these, but I can't seem to find a tinier variety of them!" Her ears drooped a bit as she explained, "I've been growing these for years now, but I have a pretty large wedding order and I'm desperate to find a smaller-bred seed..."
"I see..." Heath said, squinting for a moment in thought, "Give me one moment, please. I'll be right back..." He quickly made his was towards the back storeroom, shuffling between seed bags and a few barrels, before peeking back out into the front.
"May I borrow one of those flowers?" he asked, motioning towards her tail.
Woodland nodded, using her magic to remove the bottom flower from her tail and placing it in Heath's hoof.
"Thank you, I know we have something you could use, it's just a matter of finding it our stock..." he trailed off, studying the flower before trotting back into the storeroom. 
After a few more minutes, Heath returned to Woodland, now carrying a small bag of seeds with him, "It should only be ten bits for these, and the shrubs should produce more than enough blooms... I'm just not sure how soon you need them, they take a little while to mature."
Woodland pulled out the bits and traded Heath for the bag, smiling, "Oh that's quite alright! I have a few spells up my sleeve to help my plants grow."
Heath looked at her curiously.
She laughed, "Would you like to see? My florist shop isn't too far from here."
Heath nodded, completely interested in her offer, and he flipped the store sign from 'open' to 'closed' before following Woodland out the front door.
They made their way down the block and around the corner, stopping in front of a small shop, the sign on the front hoof-painted with the name "Sweet Stems."
"This is it!" she said as she opened the small bag and dumped a couple seeds onto the ground in front of her. She pushed a bit of dirt on top of them, patting it gently with her hoof before taking a deep breath and casting a spell on the little mound of dirt.
Suddenly, and rather quickly, a shrub began to emerge from the ground, fluffing its leaves outward as it grew, and slowly producing teenie tiny flower buds. Woodland's magic surrounded the small bush and began to fade as small pink flower bloomed.
"Oh, these are just perfect!!" she exclaimed, so, so happy to have found what she had been searching all day for.
Heath, amid his surprise at the speedy growing shrub, smiled proudly. Of course they were perfect, he knew every single seed in that store... In the store he was supposed to be at... because his grandpa was on his way back... oh no.
"I've got to go, I left the store completely unattended! But thank you for shopping with us, I hope you'll come back in the future for more seeds! Bye!" He nervously finished before galloping back to the shop, hoping he would get back before his grandfather.
"Thank you!" Woodland called after him, "I'll definitely come back again!"}

This is my entry for Looji's contest! I always have loved her OC Heath, he and my Woodland seem to have a bit in common, at least height-wise and being plant nerds! 
I had so much fun with this piece, especially making the background! So many fluffy bushes!♥

hello lovelies ! or shall i say loovelies
i am a genius person and i deserve to at least 3 slow claps for that
I put out a poll asking if people we're interested in a story based contest , and they were !
so i decided to put it out there

WHAT YA GOTTA DO ?
Draw at least one of my characters
But in this picture something needs to happen . So no characters sitting and being pretty or something
it can be the most simple thing , like drinking coffee . But the character has to do something. You can make the "story" as big as you want, you can make a comic or you can draw one picture and write dialogue for it in the description
anything you want.
